Sam "Fireball" Feuer

Sam “Fireball” Feuer (trombone, occasional percussion) grew up in Miami, (can’t you tell by his tan?) Florida. He attended Miami Killian High School and studied the trombone under Charles Knight. Sam attended Georgia Tech, getting out with a degree in chemical engineering in 1992. While a student, Fireball was very active in the Georgia Tech Band as well as Kappa Kappa Psi honorary band fraternity. After graduating from Tech, he spent six years in Mobile, Alabama, working at Ciba Specialty Chemicals as an engineer and playing with the Mobile Symphonic Pops. Upon returning to Atlanta in 1999, he joined the Callanwolde Concert Band. He was then invited to play with the Atlanta Swing Orchestra in 2003, and has been with them ever since.

In 2013, he began to serve as the new Manager of the Atlanta Swing Orchestra. Sam is working hard to continue the tradition of playing the Great American Song Book as well as more modern swing dance tunes. Sam works as a process automation engineer at FiberVisions in Covington, manufacturing textile fibers for hygienic and industrial markets. He also enjoys volunteering on the Georgia Tech Alumni Band Board of Directors, serving since 1993.
